Canucks vs Anaheim Game Three
The series is now 2-1 for Anaheim but not for a lack of spectacular play on the part of the Vancouver Canucks. The first two games were in Anaheim and the games were split due to the great play of one Jeff Cowan. Soring two goals, one in each of the two games, Jeff was responsible for the overtime win in game two. Here are a few words from Mr. Cowan on that goal as reported on ESPN.ESPN.com - NHL - Working overtime: Cowan, Canucks even series: "Cowan scored from a sharp angle with a shot that found a crack of daylight between goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere's right skate and the post after Anaheim's Rob Niedermayer lost the puck behind the net to Vancouver center Trevor Linden.
'Trevor's a clutch player, and he's proved it again and again in these situations,' Cowan said. 'It's exciting to be on the ice with him at that time of the game. He got the puck to me at the right time and I just got it away quick."
The Canucks lost game three in Vancouver after a hard fought battle. The problem was an inability to capitalize on eight power play advantages, two of which were 5 on 3. Tonight the Canucks will need to bring their specialty lines up to speed and put pucks on the net. They will also need to create more traffic in front of Giguere something the Ducks seem to be very good at in our end. Due to an unspecified illness the Brabarian will not be able to play tonight so the other stars of our team will need to pick up the slack.
